Re: Four Board Stool
JeSs!~
looks like that little board sticking up in the front there would poke you where you don't want to be poked.
also; if you sat that down in front of me and asked me what it was, "stool" would not be one of the things that came to mind. but that's just me. i'm not a DeSiGnEr, i really don't know what you were going for ...
:muah: it's cute though. just like you!

Yeah it was a rather arbitrary project in the first place. Ergonomics and Affordances were supposed to be the least important priorities and form, proportion and negative space were supposed to be the more important factors. As much as mine doesn't look like a stool, it probably looks more like a stool than most of my classmate's.
In that sense this was really more of a sculpture project than a design project. Actually: ID Studio I (1st sem. soph) is more sculpture than design. Its focus is on learning about various ways of drawing and creating things in 3D. Nothing we've made has been something that you would use but might look nice on a pedastle in a gallery.
All the more reason why I'm looking forward to next semester when we get Liza as a prof (who is awesome) and we start working with human factors and designing things for use.
